Hole 4 and 13

The second of the par 5s offers another birdie opportunity, despite playing a long way uphill. A left-to-right shaped fairway asks for a similarly shaped tee shot, often helped by the Fremantle Doctor blowing over the player’s left shoulder on the tee. Care is needed to avoid two large bunkers on the right side of the fairway, as a drive catching one of these will be penalised, often leaving little more than an 8 or 9 iron for the second shot and a long third to follow.

Driving left of the bunkers, or over them for long hitters, creates a good opportunity to reach the green in two. The green itself is one of the more difficult on the course, featuring a very large tier separating the top and bottom levels. The top shelf in particular is shallow, and approaching or chipping to a pin on this level is not easy.
